Interested in Joining CMAC ?
If you are considering joining the Canberra Model Aircraft Club, please feel free to drop in at the Flying Field and see first-hand what we have to offer. Visits from people who are established modellers, or who are interested but just thinking about becoming involved in the sport, are always welcome.
The Flying Field and our Club facilities are available for use by Members all day, seven days per week, but our main flying times are Saturday, Sunday and Wednesdays generally between about 8am and Noon, weather permitting.
(Flying at our Field is permitted in the afternoons, but can get tricky because we have a North South runway, and the location of the sun is not helpful after about midday.)
CMAC has a New Members Pack available (see Forms). This pack includes a membership Application Form, our Fees Schedule, Committee members contact details, and a copy of the CMAC Flying Rules which set out how we operate at the Flying Field and are intended to provide a safe environment for Pilots and visitors alike.
On joining the Club, new members receive a personalised Club Frequency Key and have full access to our model flying facilities. All financial members are also affiliate members of the MAAA, and hence are covered by the MAAA extensive insurance scheme while flying a model at any affiliated Club designated Flying Field.
For members who are new to Radio Controlled model flying, or to Control line flying, the CMAC has a number of experienced Instructors each of whom is happy to provide free advice and pilot training to those who may require a hand in getting started.

Field Location
The CMAC flying filed is located about 10 kilometres south of Canberra city on the Monaro Highway. The field is on the west of the highway about half way between the industrial suburbs of Fyshwick and Hume. Below is a map of the field's location in Canberra:
